The Rabbits, 1893. Since Guérard was described as the "Japonais de Paris" (Japanese of Paris), it is appropriate that the stylistic source for The Rabbits would be the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849), who made many woodcuts of animals.
