Macrozamia macdonnellii cycads, Inarlanga Pass, Larapinta Trail Section 9, Tjoritja / West Macdonnell National Park
Macrozamia macdonnellii are ancient cyads of the Zamiaceae family and are toxic to humans and livestock. M. macdonnellii is the westernmost of the Australian species, only found in the Macdonnell ranges to the west of Alice Springs. The 223km long distance Larapinta Trail passes through the Heavitree Range at Inarlanga Pass enroute to Redbank Gorge, It is split into 12 "sections".
