Eventually it will betaken on to a passenger pier, to be erected in the river nearthe present terminus, for the accommodation of travellers tothe Continent by the companys steamers. A ferro-concretebridge is being erected over the steam railway lines, whichrun parallel to the liglit railway after the latter leaves thestreets, and o\cr this it will be taken to the pier. As a large electric installation isrequired for the dock the provision of energy for the electricrailway is a coniparati\cly simple matter, and no doubt thistlcterniined the selection of motive power for the new the Grimsby light railway is not altogether unprece-dented in this country, it has not many parallels. It is track length is 6 miles 5 chains, including passing placesprovided at intervals of half a mile. On the tramway section the construction is of the usualtype, the rails resting on concrete gins, in depth. The railsarc of grooved .section, 43ft. in length, and w-eigh 90and gblbs.
