Two brown (grizzly) bears lay in the sun on a hillside during Military Appreciation Day at Mile 48, Denali National Park and Preserve, Alaska, September 15, 2018. The 11th annual Military Appreciation Day included 400 “road lottery” tickets given out to Alaska-based service members. With the warm, dry weather conditions this year, road lottery recipients were given the chance to drive out to the end of the park road at Mile 92.
