September 19, 1994;Port-au-Prince, Haiti-United States troops occupy Haiti in an American-led effort to establish democracy to the unstable Caribbean nation. The troops helped to remove a military dictatorship and return power to the democraticly elected Roman Catholic priest Jean-Bertrand Aristide who was ousted by the Hatien military three years before.
