The Stone of Mannan

It is disputed whether Mannan (or Mannau) the God of the Sea was a Norse God or a Celtic God but, either way, this 12-foot high monolithic symbol of fertility has been moved from its original location to sit beside the Tollbooth and Mercat Cross in the heart of Clackmannan, the county town of Clackmannanshire. It is also known as King Robert's Stone, the Robert the Bruce Stone and Clackmannan Stone and is reckoned to be 2500 years old since first carved and erected.
