DAHLGREN (Jan. 12, 2017) Rear Adm. David Hahn, chief of naval research, assists with loading a Hyper Velocity Projectile (HVP) into a traditional powder gun during a visit to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division. The HVP is a next-generation, low drag, guided projectile capable of completing multiple missions for gun systems such as the Navy five-Inch guns and future railguns.
