A 'yardang' is a streamlined hill made of loose rock and bedrock that has been shaped by wind erosion. Also present is a platy flow, an area of volcanic flow material. This image, published in 2014, was obtained by the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) instrument on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) satellite.
