Title print for a series of originally ten landscapes. The Italianate character of this landscape is striking, as it stands out from the other nine Dutch landscapes, which include several clearly identifiable village scenes. It is possible that the artist, in consultation with the publisher Berendrecht, added the title print with the ruin in the hilly landscape. For the editions by Hendrick Hondius, the landscape was thoroughly reworked with the burin.
