Judensau (Jews' Sow) depicted as the Gothic obscene relief on the wall of the Town Church (Stadtkirche) also known as St Mary's Parish Church (Pfarrkirche St. Marien) in Wittenberg, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The text added in 1570 refers to anti-Semitic treatises by Martin Luther dated from 1543. The image of Jews in obscene contact with a female pig, which is an unclean animal in Judaism, appeared during the 13th and 14th centuries in Germany as anti-Semitic propaganda. A pigeon is seen nesting on the medieval relief.
