Stone plaque commemorating the crossings of the Lys River (River Leie) on 19-20 October 1918 by the 36th (Ulster) Division in Harelbeke, Belgium


Stone plaque reads as follows : "This stone commemorates the Lys River crossings on the Night of 19-20th October 1918 by the 36th (Ulster) Division. In Harlebeke New British Cemetery are buried more than 120 men of this diviison, who feel between 19th and 27th October 1918. Also 1 unknown Royal Irish Rifles soldier is buried in Beveren (Leie) Churchyard Cemetery".
