Local Polish community members lay flowers on the prisoner of war monument during the commemoration of “The Great Escape” in Zagan, Poland Mar 24. “The Great Escape” took place 77 years ago, during WWII, where 200 prisoners of war attempted to escape the Nazi-Germany prison camp, only 76 actually escaped and three avoided recapture by the Germans weeks later.
