Owing to Reads kindness we are able togive illustrations of some of these veryinteresting figures (ss. 24). Other sets of figures which may betaken together are the four Evangelists, the four Latin Doctors of the Church, and the mysteries of the Life of Our Lord andour Lady, commonly known as the Mysteries of the Rosary. It is usual to find on one of the pairs of doors the four Evangelists painted, and onanother the four Doctors. This is also common in East SIBYLS SS. 23 ICJCBORDCiGH)
