I an> wondering how many florists realize what treasures await them if they haunt the roads not so frequented by men. I was more than ever im- pressed on my last trip to the country. On one side borders of euphorbia; here and everywhere rufHos of queen's lace. There a patch of blazing star; here a splasli of orange milkweed. In the wilder places, long arching branches of blackberries as pleasing to the eye when gathered while they are bright red as they arc pleasing to the palate when the sun has finished its work. Combine in your mind's eye a lovely bunch of roses bordered with either queen's lace or euphorbia and say whether the wild and the cultivated do not complement each other. Various Notes. Two recent weddings have involved members of Mr. Breitmeyer's staff. H. E. Taylor brought a Washington bride to our midst and John Moore, of the Woodward store, married Miss E. Voel- ker, of Detroit. Philip Breitmeyer entertained his branch and department heads last week, at his home on Willis avenue. Past successes and thoughts for the future were discussed. Herman Eogers, with Taepke, has re- turned from the oast. Few are taking vacations tliis week, as all wished to be on hand for the S. A. F. E. C.
