A Roman Dolabra, pickaxe, 1st - 2nd century Iron cross axe with a blade and a lightly curved and pointed opposite end. At the side of the shaft holes top and bottom frames for additional shaft safety. Exquisitely preserved iron substance. Length cm. Pickaxes of this type were also used by the Roman military forces as so-called "sapper axes".
