This image may not be used to state or imply ESA endorsement of any company or product Impact crater, Mars, satellite image. North is at lower left. This is a perspective stereo-colour image of a close-up of the central peak of an impact crater in the Tyrrhena Terra region of Mars. This impact crater is 35 kilometres across and around 1000 metres deep, with the rim 400 metres about the surrounding plain. The central peak (lower centre) formed as the rock rebounded from the impact that formed the crater. Part of another impact crater is at upper right. The image data is from the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on board the European Space Agency's (ESA) Mars Express Orbiter.
