Ruins of the casemate or double wall or wall of brackets which surrounded Masada, the fortress on Masada was built in the Judean Desert by King Herod the Great between 37 and 14 BC. During the Great Revolt between 66-73 AD. Masada was inhabited by Jewish Zealots, Rebels or Sicarii, who fought the Romansm, lost and died in 73 AD. Masada was destroyed by an earthquake hundreds of years late. In the background one sees the evaporation pools south of the Dead Sea in the Jordan Valley. Masada, Israel. February 24, 2021
