Mr. W. Metcalf, a long-serving manager (1894-1918) of the Northampton Co-Op. From a series of photographs celebrating the jubilee of the Northampton Co-Operative Society Ltd, (1870-1920). The Co-operative Society was a British consumer co-operative and is known as the Co-operative Group Ltd. today. In the nineteenth and twentieth centuries the co-operatives were operated on a regional basis.
