Two regiments at a time, working as pioneers,wrecked a neighboring house, and with its timbers soon had the bridge ready to bear the weight of horsesand artillery. The only mishap was the fall of a pack-mule from the bridge into the water thirty feet takes much, however, to disturb the equanimity of an army mide.
