The, '.materials of which it is compofied emulate an onyx, the ground a rich iranfparetit â dark amethyfiins colour, and the fnowy figures which adorn it are in has relief, of workmanfiiip abo-ve all encomium, and fuch as cannot but excite 'in us the higheji idea of the arts of the ancients.
