This is a very beautiful shrub, with small leaves, somewhat like the Juniper, and delicate, small pink flowers in spikes in May. VIBURNUM. Snow Ball [Sterilis). A well known favorite shrub, of large size, with globular clusters of white flowers in June. Plicatum [Plicate Tiburnum). A rare and ex- ceedingly beautiful species from Japan. Flowers pure white, in very large globular heads. WIEGELA. Desboisi. A beautiful variety, with deep rose-colored flowers, resembling rosea, but flowers much darker; one of the darkest and best. Hortensis Nivca. Flowers pure white, retaining their purity during the whole time of flowering; foliage large; habit vigorous; a very profuse bloomer. Van Houtti. A new variety of vigorous growth, with dark, rich crimson flowers, produced in great abundance; darker than Desboisi, and a decided acquisition. Variegated Leaved {FoL Variegata). Reaves bordered with yellowish white, finely marked; flowers bright pink. Candida. The best white variety. A large sized shrub of erect, vigorous growth, producing a great profusion of pure white flowers in June and July; especially valuable, being clear white and a much better grower than Hortensis Nives; a valuable feature of the variety is its continuing to bloom moderately throughout the summer.
