Nobel Peace Prize Nominee Bishop Franjo Komarica of Banja Luka Bosnia-Herzegovina in the Roman Catholic Cathedral "Saint Bonaventura" Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Balkans. Bishop Franjo Komarica was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by the Sarajevo-based International League of Humanists with support from the Bosnian government "During the 1992-95 Bosnian war, Komarica spent a year under house arrest for opposing the expulsion of non-Serbs from the Banja Luka region. The humanists league said the bishop had "gained admirers" among all ethnic groups for his work on behalf of refugees and displaced people." (National Catholic Reporter, May 28, 2004)
