SAN DIEGO (May 30, 2018) Sailors aboard San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23) heave a mooring line while getting underway for composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX). COMPTUEX is the final pre-deployment exercise which certifies the combined Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s (MEU) abilities to conduct military operations at sea and project power ashore during their upcoming deployment in summer of 2018.
