A German mail shirt(hauberk),1st half of 16th century. Of riveted iron rings(circa 9 mm in diameter),slightly larger and thicker rings at the shoulders. Open along one side,with short sleeves. A small central front slit,the back slightly shorter. The attached collar made of sturdy rings,with side slit and ending with a row of small closed rings. The lower edge with riveted ornamental brass rings. Minor losses,partially closed with modern-day copper wire rings.
