C-123B Medium Assault Cargo Plane. Shown here is one of the Coast Guard's new C-123 planes flown out of Honolulu. Built by Fairchild Aircraft Division, and accepted by the Coast Guard in 1958, it is a twin engine, high wing, land monoplane equipped with a retractable tricycle landing gear. The plane is powered by two supercharged radial engines equipped with three-bladed, constant speed, full feathering, reversible pitch propellers.
