Hewas graduated with the class of 1887, but wasthen obliged to pass still another examination,that of the physicians and surgeons, before hecould practice in Ontario, where the rules gov-erning medical practice are more strict thanthis side of the border. After Dr. Gallagher was thus well preparedto enter upon practice, he settled in the townof Campbell ford, Ontario, where he remainedfor seven years. In looking about for anotherlocation where he would find a wider field ofetTort, he selected Bay City and came here inMay, 1894, previously having taken, in 1893,a post-graduate course at the Polyclinic Col-lege and Hospital, New York City. Dr. Gal-lagher is well known to the public of Bay City,both professionally and otherwise, and is heldin universal esteem. He is president of theBay County Medical Society and belongs alsoto the American Medical Association and theMichigan State Medical Society.
