GEO-1 Satellite in Lab
The military satellite GEO-1, shown here in preparation for final factory work at Lockheed Martin's facilities in Sunnyvale, California, February 10, 2010. The satellite is part of the Space-Based Infrared System, which is intended to detect ICBM (intercontinental ballistic missile) launches. It was launched in May of 2011.
