London Vegan Actions organised a mass showing of the 2005 US documentary 'Earthlings' in Trafalgar Square, with a large circle of protesters standing in white masks and holding placards or laptops on which the film was playing. Made by vegans, it shows horrific scenes often taken using hidden cameras of cruel practices within the food industry and other ways that animals are abused as pets, for clothing, entertainment and scientific research. Made by vegans, it shows horrific scenes often taken using hidden cameras of cruel practices within the food industry and other ways that animals are abused as pets, for clothing, entertainment and scientific research and advocates treating all living species as 'earthlings' with equal or similar rights as humans.
