[Concluded from page 48.] weeks at one of the Bussian river re- sorts. He was accompanied on his vaca- tion by his wife. Mr. Jaeger, St., plans to take a week off this month and then go deer hunting when the season opens. He is w^U satisfied with initial business in their new shipping department. The principal diflBculty, he says, is the need of more space. George Wagner, of Joseph's, is back from St. Louis, having brought a bride with him. Mrs. Copeland's store on Sutter street, above Grant avenue, attracted much attention last week with a special window display of celosia plants. Three new Chinese varieties were shown. Though it is the quiet time of the year, Mrs. Copeland says business holds up fairly well. She had a heavy rush a day or two last week with commence- ment bouquets for nurses' graduations at some of the local hospitals, forty bouquets for a home reception and !i number of floral pieces for a funeral. Vacations have about completed their course at the store of the MacRoric- McLarcn on Powell street. J. A. Armstrong is now at Truekee and he was the last to get away. A. J. Rossi, of Pelicano, Rossi & Co., spent two weeks at Skaggs Springs, and upon rctiirniiig was gratified to find that business had held up well during his absence. A. W. Shurragar, from San Luis Obispo, Cal., was in town last week. Mrs. Stanley, with Enonioto & Co., has returned from a vacation trip to Los Angeles, during which she went to Catalina island and enjoyed herself thoroughly. The United Flower & Supply Co., which is one of the few places handling early chrysanthemums, reports a good call for them. They are now preparing a catalogue of strawflowers
