MENOPAUSE, ILLUSTRATION
Representation of hormonal disruption during menopause and more particularly the production of estrogens. After 50 years old, the rate of estrogen is maintained partly thanks to the production of male hormones (androstenedione) by the suprarenal glands and the ovaries. The ovaries also produce oestradiol (E2) in small quantity. These hormones are transformed into estrogen thanks to adipous cells (oestron, E1, by aromatase). This drawing is part of a series on menopause (see. images 2227108, 2227208, 2227308, 2227408, 2227508 and 2227608).
