This castle, also called la Fortaleza de la Mota, is a superb and extensive fortress/castle that is still being exczvated and restored. It perches high above the town of Alcala la Real and has a long history starting with construction by the Moors and later occupied by the Christians. The reconstruction is sympathetically done and there are magnificent views of the Sierra Nevada from it's high vantage point. A must-see.
