Fraunhofer telescope. This is a type of refractor telescope named after the German optician and glassmaker Joseph von Fraunhofer (1787-1826). The diagrams also show lamps and micrometers whose design is named after him. This equipment was designed for the Dorpat Observatory in Estonia. This diagram is from 'An Introduction to Practical Astronomy', published by William Pearson in several volumes between 1824 and 1829.
