The accompanying plan ofthe station shows the final arrangements adopted, whichinclude the relocation of the train starters office to thewest or loading train platform and which provide for asubstantial increase in the space available for the publicon the western platform areas of the building. The ele-vated tracks are arranged to permit looping trains throughthe station or continuing them to Maiden upon the corn-. Boston Improvements—East Cambridge Viaduct Extensionfrom Drawtenders Tower pletion of the extension to that city, and as stated before,the conditions have been much improved on the publicplatforms by the establishment of service in and out ofBoston via the East Cambridge viaduct. The southbound train platform at Sullivan Square affordsthe most extensive accommodations for passengers of allthose on the system. It is 350 ft. long and about 12 at its extreme northern end, the width increasing toa maximum of nearly 60 ft. on the southern end. Threepassageways from 15 ft. to 30 ft. in width connect the trainside with the portion devoted to surface car unloading, andin addition a stairway 10 ft. wide connects with the bridgeutilized by passengers on the east side of the main trainshed. Eight-car trains can easily be loaded at this plat-form, and it is equipped with a waiting room, news standand other public conveniences. On account of the fre-quency of
