The tendon of the biceps is liftedout of its groove, and drawn outwardswith the blunt retractor. 6. While the assistant rotates thearm outwards, a curved incision, witha strong knife placed at right anglesupon the bone, is carried round fromthe opening in the joint over thelesser tuberosity, dividing the capsu-lar ligament and subscapularis muscle(fig. 464).
