Quiver tree (Aloe dichotoma) photographed on the road south to Aus, Namibia. This tree is eaten by the Kudu antelope as it acts as a repellant to parasites when absorbed into the animal's bloodstream. The quiver tree is so called because of the bushmen's ancient custom of hollowing out its branches to use as quivers to carry their arrows. Photographed in Namibia.
