Snow leopard with yak kill and magpie, Ulley, Ladakh

Snow leopard (Panthera uncia) at its yak kill, Ulley, Ladakh (best larger). Snow leopards are one of the most difficult species to see in the wild as they are rare, shy and live at high altitudes. I was super lucky to see this one at 4050 meters ~13,300 feet near its yak kill, but to get even this close required my 500mm lens with a converter (700 mm). Black-billed magpies (Pica pica) are waiting to steal meat from the kill.
