The first branch of this jherculean tree is 125 feet up and is 6y2 feet Iin diameter. In ascending to the UpperGrove, in which there are 360 big trees, theroad goes under an arch cut directly throughthe 27-foot diameter of a living Sequoia, jMany of the trees in Mariposa Grove are over250 feet high, while the highest is 272 feet.
