Loch Badagyle, and the mountains of Assynt and Coigach at Ross. GPAN 0021
Coigach is the peninsula north of Ullapool, in Wester Ross in the Northwest Highlands of Scotland. This abuts Assynt further to the north. Like its more northerly neighbour it is an area of astonishing but stark beauty, with mountains rising sheer to dizzying heights from quiet lochs. Achiltibuie and its smaller adjoining hamlets form the parish of Coigach, a traditional crofting, Trout, Sea Trout and Salmon fishing community of no more than a couple of hundred houses sprinkled along between mountain and shore on a peninsula looking over the Summer Isles and the open sea.
