Itusually occurs in mills, granaries, storehouses, barnsand houses where farinaceous products are stored. Theadult moth is a beautifully banded creature with awing expanse of about an inch. The ground color is CORN PESTS AND DISEASES 28l light brown, with reddish reflections. The larva isabout three-quarters of an inch long, and is consider-ably darker than that of the preceding species. Itshabits are similar to those of the Indian meal larva constructs tubes of silk and particles offeed or other food in which it lives.
