Biomass project. Image 4 of 4. Close-up of wood chippings made from tree saplings grown at a biomass demonstration project in Bruges, Belgium. These will be used as a fuel to power electricity generators. The project was opened on 14th March 2007 by the Flemish minister for agriculture, Yves Leterne. It is intended to demonstrate the principles and effectiveness of growing crops for use as a source of fuel. Biomass production is a growing industry due to an increased interest in sustainable fuel sources.
