A long pull up hill with occasional shortdescents brought us to the top of the She Chu-Yalungdivide, only about 13,000 feet high. As one tops the lastrise, the great range beyond the Yalung bursts into view, aglittering mass of ice, snow and rock, culminating in thesnow-clad mass of Kawalori (peak of everlasting snow),a sacred mountain of Nyarong, and one of the highest peaksin Eastern Tibet.
