Viharn of Wat Lok Moli (Molee) / Chiang Mai / Thailand
bWat Lok Moli/b is a Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand. The temple is situated on the north side of the north moat surrounding the old part of the city, about 400 meters west of the Chang Phuak city gate. It is one of the older but also less visited temples. The temple is thought to date to the 14th century though its origins are somewhat obscure. The viharn, which as we mentioned saw a major overhaul in recent times, and the large brick stupa were constructed in the early part of the 16th century by the Lanna king of the time, Phra Muang Kaew, and indeed the stupa now houses the ashes of both himself and his wife. iThe viharn (assembly hall) is beautifully crafted in the typical northern Lanna-style with lovely decorative inlay.
