These ratherslender shells, about one half to three fifths of an inch long, occur fromFlorida northward to Cape Cod. The upper whorls are smooth, thelower ones are undulated with vertical costse (ten to thirteen), and thebody-whorl is encircled below the middle by a series of revolving, closelyset grooves. The aperture is typical of the genus, though less stronglymarked by internal callosity on the outer lip and with less prominentteeth than in C. mercntoria.
