The lace tradeemploys 150,000 embroiderers in this county. Nottingham is a large town, boldly and picturesquely situated upon the Trent. Its streetsare arranged along the face of a hill so steep, that the ground floors of the street behind, insome instances, rise higher than the roofs of those in front.
