Unique CWGC gravestone of double Victoria Cross winner Captain Noel Chavasse. It is the only one with two VC's pictured.


Captain Noel Chavasse was one of only three men ever to win two Victoria Crosses, Britain's highest award for valour, and the only one in World War I. He was a Doctor attached to the Liverpool Scottish Regiment. He died of wounds received while winning his second medal. His gravestone is unique in bearing the image of two VC's
