It is believed that such a list will be of great value to pathologists and others interested in plant diseases and their control, as it will provide a means of determining quickly and easily what diseases have been reported on our important economic plants and their present known distribution, with the name of the causal organism in the case of parasitic diseases and the common name of the disease. It is hoped also that the list will be helpful in bringing about greater uniformity and certainty in the use of both common and scientific names. The list has been compiled from the off
