A Military Merit Order - a Knight's Cross 2nd Class with Swords 1870/71 Knight's Cross in gold made by Eduard Quellhorst in Munich in typical issue for the Franco-Prussian War. The swords are struck on both sides and soldered to the clasp. The suspension ring with the punch mark "EQ 75" for the maker and for the fineness as 18 carat gold. The orders grade of Knight of the 2nd Class, which only existed until 1905, was at first awarded without the swords as a "war decoration" in 1870/71.
