Solitary swan at sunrise on the Thames at Radley. Luminescent first light over a beautiful stretch of the River Thames by Radley Boathouse. Founded in 1921, the boathouse has been serving Radley College and local rowing enthusiasts for over a century. Seeing swans like this on a misty Autumn morning reminds me irresistibly of the Swan of Tuonela, a mystic swan that swims forever in the underworld in the great Finnish mythological epic the Kalevala Maybe it's just me?
