Medieval Castle of Roseto Capo Spulico with the blue Ionian Sea, Calabria, Italy


The "Castrum Petrae Roseti" (Stone Castle of Roseto) is a fortified castle to defend the Ionian coast. Is one of the main monuments in Calabria, which dates back to Norman times, rebuilt in the '200 by the will of Frederick II of Swabia and remodeled several times until the sixteenth century. It is located in Roseto Capo Spulico, overlooking the Ionian sea.
