A 1927 press portrait of ISIDRO AYOR , full name AIsidro Ramon Antonio Ayora Cueva ( 1879 - 1978), 22nd President of Ecuador. Coins are colloquially named ayoras as they were introduced by him. The politician and doctor was a member of the Ecuadorian Radical Liberal Party. He was also Mayor of Quito in 1925 where he founded the Surgical Clinic, later the Ayora Clinic.
